Understanding the basics

Get a head start on your research projects by learning the fundamentals of literature research during this two-hour workshop. You’ll learn what to look out for when researching online, how to judge the value of a source and how to understand the ways in which biases can influence methods and interpretations.

This rookie course is a must for everyone who wants to avoid the most commonly made mistakes.

You’ll learn to:

•    make reasoned choices in looking for information;

•    recognize the value (academic) information possesses;

•    formulate a well-founded opinion about accessibility of information to the public;

•    reflect on how your own biases can influence method and interpretation;

•    examine new information critically.

Are you familiar with the basics of literature research? Consider attending the advanced literature search workshops for more in-depth information and advice.
