The composition and maintenance of Research Software is an increasingly important task in the development of research projects throughout Leiden University. Research Software is also recognised as a pillar of the Open Science program at our university and the NWO.
The following training will orient participants to the practices and emerging policies that will inform our expertise area in Research Software to benefit both our research and communities. We will explore tenants of Research Software Management and their relationship to FAIR principles, Open Science, and Digital Sovereignty. We will ask how this field relates to our digital practices in Research Data Management and scholarly publishing.
Topics of discussion include licensing, citation, reproducibility, versioning, metadata, documentation, publication, and archiving in regard to Research Software. We will build a foundation on key concepts and practices that underlie the work of writing code during research.
