Date: 30 June 2023 @ 15:30 - 17:30

Timezone: Amsterdam

In his recent book Daya Krishna and Twentieth-Century Indian Philosophy, Daniel Raveh introduces contemporary Indian philosophy as a unique philosophical genre through the writings of one its most significant exponents, Daya Krishna (1924-2007). He discusses Daya Krishna's main intellectual projects: rereading classical Indian sources anew, his famous Samvad Project, and his attempt to formulate a new social and political theory for India. Come listen to Daniel Raveh at 3D@VU to learn more about contemporary Indian philosophy and the thought-provoking writings of Daya Krishna, and ask your question in the Q&A!

During this event, you’ll also hear about the research of Aniketh Khutia and Valeria Kuznetsova in the library’s Special Collections. What’s more: you can leave the event with inspiring reading tips from the library's book collection curated by Marina Uzunova!

About the speaker: Daniel Raveh is Professor of Indian and Comparative Philosophy at Tel Aviv University.
