This crash workshop focuses on improving your search strategy (from Module 2), which elements do not belong in your bibliography. Not only will you learn to assess and reflect on your own research process, but you will also be able to take accountability and communicate about your research process. This advanced course is designed for people who already have experience setting up a research and search strategy but want to expand their skills. If you are unfamiliar with setting up a search strategy, consider taking module 2 first.

This workshop is suitable for all those who need to write an academic paper, either as a refresher or a deepening.

You will learn to:

select, assess and evaluate sources based on your information needs

reflect on the approach used to formulate a search query and its results

use tools to adjust your strategy to get better, more relevant results

assess the credibility of information using certain indicators

cite sources correctly and explain related problems and risks

explain the importance of copyright and its main rules

adapt your communication strategy to the message and target audience

Workshop requirements

You should provide in advance your search strategy (from Module 2, or your own search strategy): Search question, key concepts, keywords, search strings, database of choice and number of hits. The course participants give each other feedback. Then you get some handles for improvement apply those.
