Celebrate Purple Friday at the Library and join us for a very special movie screening: Paris is Burning. Free drinks and popcorn included!

Paris is Burning

This landmark documentary provides a vibrant snapshot of the 1980s through the eyes of New York City’s African American and Latinx Harlem drag-ball scene

Dr. Roel van den Oever, asisstant professor of English literature here at the VU and expert in gender and diversity, will give an intro on the significance of Paris is Burning.

This event is part of a cooperation between project Re:Book from the University Library, where we use physical books as inspiration, decoration, and even as objects, together with Pride Library and Decolonization LAB.
