Join us to celebrate the opening of the book collection for Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing. Mariëlle Spekreijse will give a talk about the three pillars of health, movement, nutrition, and relaxation. Then, there will be an opportunity to practice being healthy by doing a brief meditation, trying out our new active study spots and having some free healthy snacks and drinks.

How do you combine books and sports? You introduce a special kind of library...

The opening of the library collection for SDG 3: Good Health and Wellness is collaboration between the University Library and VU in Motion to link literature and practice together. The SDG Library contains a thematic collection of books dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals, making literature on societal subjects more accessible and visible at the VU campus. Our carefully put together (physical and digital) collection on SDG 3 portrays works of literature that focus on health from a variety of perspectives. Join us 16 May if you want to hear more about health in an accessible way and if you want to get inspired to make small behavioral changes that have great impact on the way you feel!

What to expect?

After presenting the library collection on SDG 3, Mariëlle Spekreijse will give a talk on the three pillars of health and how to implement small changes to improve your health and wellbeing. At the end of the talk she will officially open the library’s newly active study spots. The group Student Meditation will then teach us how to do a short body scan meditation to get in touch with what our body feels and needs. Afterwards, there will be time for informal networking with free healthy snacks and drinks.
