Rituals around death
Date: 11 April 2024 @ 20:00 - 22:00
Timezone: Amsterdam
While the Egyptians buried their pharaohs in impressive pyramids, today we – for example – scatter ashes of our loved ones in a special place. Rituals around dying and burial are as old as mankind. How we deal with death varies greatly by time and culture. Dr Brenda Mathijssen (University of Groningen) did her PhD on contemporary rituals surrounding death. Karen Hof (Hof Uitvaart & Zorg) works in Twente as a personal bereavement coach, guiding people and their loved ones through their final journey. Moderator: Linda Hiemstra BA (Saxion).
