Systematic review as a research method, Session 2, on campus EOS 00.270
Date: 14 May 2025 @ 14:00 - 16:00
Timezone: Amsterdam
Thinking about conducting a systematic review or another type of systematized literature review? This workshop will guide you through the key stages of the process, helping you stay organized and efficient.
In this workshop you will learn more about:
- Different types of reviews
- Phases and stages of the review process
- Library services: systematic review support
We will also have a special guest for a session on Open Access. Maud Vennemans, the faculty liaison, will give some insights into Open Access publishing and explain which publishers you should avoid publishing your review with.
Who can attend?
- Researchers and (external) PhD candidates of the Nijmegen School of Management
- Especially useful if you are planning or starting a literature review
- Counts as 5 hours in your Training and Supervision Plan (3 hours preparation + 2 hours attendance), see TPS template "Method related training".
How can you prepare for the workshop?
- Search for published systematic reviews in your field. Select at least one systematic review and one other type of review.
- Read the methods section of the articles you find.
- Use the PRISMA checklist to evaluate on the authors' methods. Which elements of the method do you find according to PRISMA and which elements do you miss?
Part of a series:
This is the second in a series of three workshops on information skills for researchers. We recommend joining also the other sessions to strengthen your skills.
