Prof. Michael Bamberg (Clark University, USA) has made significant contributions to the study of identity specifically, and the status of qualitative research within Psychology more generally. He served as president of the Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology (APA-Division 5) in 2021. During this workshop Prof. Bamberg will provide an introduction to the analysis of interactions and the ways that individuals position their identities within everyday life through the telling of “small” stories.

During the workshop we will jointly work through two different sets of data to explore how individuals position themselves and others in the telling of everyday stories. This workshop promises to be interesting not those wanting to qualitatively study everyday life, but everyone interested in issues of “psychology, branding, politics, humanity + peace”. No prior experience in qualitative research methods are required. Due to limited capacity, you should register via this link. For questions please contact Ole Gmelin (j.h.gmelin rug.nl).
