Publishing and Archiving Data
This training, "Publishing and Archiving Data," was offered as a one hour and 15 minute presentation and hands-on training for the Health-RI course, "FAIR data stewardship basics" that took place in Utrecht (The Netherlands) on June 6, 2024. The training was led by Kim Ferguson and Cees Hof, both from Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS-KNAW).
This presentation refers to training materials that can be found in a previous iteration of this training (Hof & Ferguson, 2023, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8101838).
Learning outcomes
Understand the relation between repositories and FAIR data.
Be able to determine and prioritise criteria for selecting a repository.
Practice in providing advice to researchers about data publishing and archiving.
Note:
The slide deck is distributed the same across three file formats: .pptx, .odp, and .pdf. The .pptx format is the most (web) accessible while the .odp format is the most open without retaining several accessibility features - both formats are subject to formatting issues. The .pdf serves as a stable visual version with accessible features. In case of format issues, the .pdf file would be considered the reference file - this reference file is denoted by "1-" at the beginning of the file name.
